It is easy to compose fiction based on emotion. Let’s be logical and think without prejudice.
1- Mousavi was neither a maverick reformist nor a strong opposition to the regime’s principals. He was not a danger to the leader power and existence. What was the authority’s motivation for preventing Mousavi from getting into power?
2- Ahmadinejad was accused of monthly trip to the poor regions and throwing money to the people for last 4 years. Wasn’t he? For the first time some one have listened to downtrodden, throw money at them, distributing free potatoes, ..etc (let’s assume it was a pure populist policy for buying vote). Why are you surprised that uneducated brainless people from small towns and villages have voted for him?
3- I admit those people from small towns, villages and remote locations are not from Tehran so their votes shouldn’t be counted at the first place.
4-So if people behind the scenes are trying to fix the election, they are either not very good at it, or they are afraid to be seen to be going too strongly against the will of the people. (Jon Leyne, BBC News, Tehran, few days before election )
5-Giving the dispersed electoral mechanism, the number of people (many of them ordinary people including teachers, bank clerks, shop keepers, and so on were hired for the day) involved at any stage it is really hard to fix the result. Let’s not think like Daie Jan Napoleon, use logics and imagine the hardware / software involved if it was going to be distorted.
Emotion will die off eventually but leave us with bitter residual of truth. Let’s free our mind and think straight.
